How the Estimate Process Works
Moving to a new home can be an exciting yet challenging experience. One of the most crucial steps in the moving process is obtaining an accurate moving estimate from a licensed and properly insured mover. This estimate is the foundation for planning your budget, timeline, and other essential move aspects. So, how does the moving estimate process work?
The first step is to reach out to moving companies near you. The Moving Professionals will ask you to provide them with relevant details about your move. This information typically includes the size of your current home, the origin and destination address, any special items that require extra care, and the desired moving date. Based on these details, the moving company will assess the scope of the move and determine the best way to provide an estimate, at home or virtual.
To ensure accuracy, Movers offers an in-home survey. A representative will visit your current residence to inventory your belongings and determine any unique requirements for the move. They may also note any challenges, such as narrow staircases or tight parking spaces. The information gathered during this survey helps the moving company provide a more precise estimate.
The other option that customers choose is a virtual survey. A Virtual, such as a FaceTime estimate, is a convenient and efficient way to obtain a moving estimate remotely. It involves scheduling a video call with our representative; we will guide you through a virtual tour of your home. During the call, you’ll showcase your belongings, rooms, and any items that require special attention. The representative will ask questions and gather information to assess the scope of the move. Based on this virtual tour, you will be provided with an estimate, considering factors such as the size of your home, the number of items to be moved, and any specific requirements. This streamlined process allows for accurate estimations without needing an in-person visit, making it a convenient option for those who prefer remote interactions.
You will be provided with an inventory and estimate via email, which gives you an approximate move cost. A detailed inventory will determine the number of trucks, manpower (or womanpower), and time for your upcoming move.
The moving estimate process involves a combination of asking the right questions, listening, and communicating. We do not recommend working with a company that will not meet you at home or virtually. By understanding this process and obtaining a reliable estimate, you can better plan your move and ensure a smooth and stress-free transition to your new home.
